The latest console from Sony – PlayStation 4 Pro can display games and media content at 4k and with HDR. The next step after getting PS4 Pro is to get a proper TV that’s suitable for gaming, meaning has a low input lag and features superb picture quality. It also has to be good enough to use it as normal TV to view movies and 4k videos.

We have created a list of best TVs for PS4 Pro console and have divided them into three categories based on their price: High-end TVs, Mid-range, and budget. As base screen size for High-end and Mid-range TVs, we took 55-inch which is the golden midway most of us would buy. However, for budget category screen sizes varies and most of them are smaller than 50-inches as you can save a lot of money by getting a TV with a smaller screen.

Curved or flat screen?

On the market, you can see two basic types of TVs: curved and flat. Which one to choose? This mostly depends on how you are going to use it. If you want no troubles just go with a flat screen you can’t go wrong with this one. It features good viewing angles so you can look at it from everywhere. It’s simple yet very ergonomic the only thing you have to keep in mind is how far you’re going to sit away from it.

If you have decided to get a curved screen, keep in mind that they are always more expensive and they require a specific position to enjoy the curved screens pluses. For example, it has a wider field of view and feel of depth to the picture. However, to enjoy this you have to be at a specific distance from it. If you wan’t wide viewing angles than curved screen is probably not for you.

Top 3 High-end 4k TV’s for PS4 Pro

Televisions in High-end list feature newest technologies, best picture quality and are the best investment if you want not only a TV for your PS4 but also great TV to watch high-quality media content. They all are made from high-quality materials, feature minimalistic designs, large screen sizes, and tiny bezels. These TVs are future proof for at least next three years. Just don’t be surprised that with all of this technology and quality also comes a hefty price tag.

1. LG Electronics OLED55C7PLG Electronics OLED55C7P

The LG C7 is surely one of the best 4k TV’s money can buy, it’s also the best TV we have tested. It offers it all – wide viewing angles, excellent deep black levels and superb colors. It also has a super slim panel, and it’s compatible with HDR formats. The only drawback to this TV is its price. However, it’s likely to drop over time, and if you want a TV that features all newest technologies and has the best picture quality, you can’t go wrong with the LG C7.

Despite its high price, LG C7 is still relatively cheap when compared to other OLED TVs. If you want to get a bit cheaper version, you can go with last years model – B6. They are very similar. One thing to mention is that C7 is only available in 55 and 65-inch sizes if you want something larger than this, you have to look at something like LG G6 or G7. They feature screen sizes that are over 70-inches but also cost five-figures.

The design of G7 is very minimalistic. Bezels on sides, top, and bottom, are less than half-inch thick. The silver stand features LG and OLED lettering and has a brushed metal finish.

For connections, you get 4 HDMI 2.0a ports, 1 composite video input, Ethernet port, Optical digital audio output and RF antenna as input.

2. Samsung Electronics QN55Q7FSamsung Electronics QN55Q7F

This is one of the best TVs for gaming. It features an LCD panel with 4k resolution as well as High-dynamic-range imaging (HDR) and refresh rate of 120Hz. All that combined with a very low input lag makes this TV superb for use with PS4 Pro. The only drawback we could find is that Image degrades at an angle.

The Samsung Q7F QLED TV feature very thin bezels, borders, and a very sleek looking stand that supports TV in its place very well. With the build quality, you can see a lot of improvements over 2016 models. For example, it features a remote that features a metal casing. The back of the Q7F QLED TV is made entirely out of plastic and has only two inputs – for a power cable and optical OneConnect cable. Unlike the most TVs on the market that feature all connections on the back of TV, Samsung has made a OneConnect box that is plugged into TV via optical cable and features all the connections you need: HDMI, USB, Ethernet and so on.

As you would suspect, this TV features a very good picture quality with a great contrast ratio and deep black levels. The only thing we would like to see an improvement is viewing angle. It’s not terrible, but some lower priced competitors feature better angles.

3. Sony XBR55A1ESony XBR55A1E

OLED-based TVs are usually very expensive as it’s relatively new technology. With 2017, Sony has entered OLED market with the new A1E series. Until now only LG has made OLED TVs, and if we compare them with Sony’s A1E series, they are much more affordable. Sony A1E wears a hefty price tag. However, you get what you are paying for. For example, in Sony A1E series there is new audio technology where the screen of TV acts as a speaker. In the result, audio emanates from the picture. It act’s like 3D sound. For example, if you see a clip where a bird flies, you can hear how it’s approaching and leaving. With this technology, you also get a much slimmer TV.

You can get it with a screen size of up to 77-inches. Design wise this thing looks impressive, with super thin bezels and minimalistic appearance. It features a stand that’s similar to Photo frame stand. So Sony A1E ends up with a slight angle leaning backward. This can be unusual, but by the time you get accustomed to it and can’t tell a difference.

Sony A1E series is a great choice if you want to have a high-end system where everything is made by Sony. Seems like this TV is from future.

Top 3 Mid-range 4k TV’s for PS4 Pro

The next Top 3 list contains TVs that most people would get. They feature a price that doesn’t exceed 2000$ barrier and are great for everyday use. Unlike High-end TVs, mid-range TVs feature a much more reasonable price to features and quality ratio. Some of them are soo good that you won’t even be able to tell the difference from a more expensive competitor. If you want an excellent TV for a decent cost, you should look for a mid-range television.

1. Sony XBR55X900ESony XBR55X900E

If you are not willing to pay over 1500$ for a TV, but still want newest technologies and an excellent picture quality, then Sony Bravia XBR-55X900E is a superb choice. You can get it with a screen size ranging from 49-inches up to whopping 75-inches. The 4k resolution with direct LED backlit screen is an excellent selection of TV to pair with your PS4 Pro console.

The design is one of the areas where the X900E excels the most. It has a premium looking black mat finish with some aluminum trim. The stand is very supportive and is great for cable management.

The X900E has four HDMI inputs all of them being 4K HDCP 2.2 compliant. There are also USB ports (two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0) as well as AV input. Of course, you also get inputs for Ethernet and Wi-Fi. You get the same remote as on 2016 models. You might think that sound quality for a TV with no visible speakers would be poor, but surprisingly this TV offers a very good sounding stereo.

Another X900E strong side is image quality. You get picture presets that include Vivid, Standard, Custom, Cinema Home, Cinema Pro, Animation, Sports, and Game. The 4k panel has 100Hz refresh rate.

2. Samsung Electronics UN55MU8500Samsung Electronics UN55MU8500

Samsung MU8500 series in our opinion is the second best TV choice from Samsung right after Q7F series. The MU8500 features a similar performance to Q7F, and unlike its bigger brother, it features a curved screen. Yes, it, of course, means that there are some limitations on viewing angles. However, if you find a right viewing point and you are in the right distance from your TV, you can enjoy the superb gaming experience.

On MU8500 series strong sides, we can mention its great picture quality – black levels, contrast and a wide range of colors. Minimal input lag is another key factor, especially if you want to use it with your PS4 Pro. The only downside is its limited viewing angle and slight screen glare.

The MU8500 uses a new color system that’s called DCI P3. This system features a wider color spectrum or basically more colors. This is great when watching high-quality media content as well as gaming. This TV features a panel with 120Hz refresh rate.

Speakers on this TV are decent. You get a total power of 40 watts (10W for every speaker). The sound is ok, but in a very large room, you may find it lacking. We advise you to get a soundbar with this TV.

3. LG Electronics OLED55B6PLG Electronics OLED55B6P

The LG Electronics OLED55B6P is a predecessor of LG’s newer C7P series. It’s slightly cheaper than the newest member of Samsung family but still isn’t cheap. In many ways, it’s identical to C7P series. The only thing we found a bit worse is content in high dynamic range (HDR). You can also get a curved version of B6 called C6. They have the same specifications with the only difference in 3D where C6 supports it, but B6 doesn’t. You also get a 77-inch TV – G6. LGT claims that it also has the same specifications.

This OLED TV is one of the thinnest you can find. It has very slim bezels. You can also use it with VESA wall mount if you want to attach it in a special place, not on TV table. If you do want to place it on a table, it sits on a classic style stand that gives you a feel that your TV panel is floating in the air. The remote is very basic. It’s well thought out and features a motion controller so you can use it as a mouse.

When it comes to picture quality, B6 is one of the best. OLED ensures good brightness and uniformity in dark areas.

Top 3 Budget 4k TV’s for PS4 Pro

Budget TV’s cost less than 1000$ and is a great choice for those who want a dedicated TV for PS4. Why so? Because they don’t cost a fortune and still offer most of the features that higher level TVs can offer. You still get 4k resolution and HDR. One thing to keep in mind is that getting a budget TV often means that you how to step down on a screen size. The smaller screen size you buy, the cheaper it is. If you still can’t afford to buy a budget 4k TV, we advise you to go and take a look at 4k monitors.

1. LG Electronics 49UJ7700LG Electronics 49UJ7700

If you can’t afford to pay over 1000$ for a TV that you can game on. Or you’re looking for a dedicated gaming TV, a good choice is LG Electronics 49UJ7700. It is a very versatile 4k TV that has great viewing angles, and a super low input lag for most serious gamers. The low price and one of the lowest input lags make UJ7700 series one of the best gaming TVs. However, there are also some downsides to it being so budget friendly. First is its refresh rate – 60 Hz. While still being enough for gaming, it’s considerably lower than some higher-end TVs can offer – typically 100 Hz and 120 Hz. Also, picture quality in dark rooms is very average, local dimming could be better.

Design wise the UJ7700 is very basic with some nice touches. It has a Stand that consists of “four legs.” In a result, you have to have a quite wide Tv table. It’s more like a step down from the 2016 UH7700. Borders of TV are narrow (0.55″ or 1.4 cm). They are made from plastic with some silver accent. Build quality is ok considering it’s entirely made out of plastic. When it comes to picture quality, you get nothing fancy. It’s good enough to game and has decent viewing angles.

2. Samsung Electronics UN40MU7000Samsung Electronics UN40MU7000

The UN40MU7000 is a budget friendly TV made by Samsung Electronics. It has a wide range of screen sizes ranging from just 40-inches up to 65-inches. Overall the MU7000 series offer a 4k resolution inside LED panel that has a refresh rate of 60Hz. This Tv features very nice black levels because of its high contrast. It also has a wide color gamut which is great for HDR. We included it on our List as one of the best TVs for PS4 because of its low input lag. With 4k at 60Hz and HDR, it’s just 21.8ms.

For inputs, it has 3 HMDI ports, two USB ports, one Digital Optical Audio Out, Ethernet port as well as Tuner (Cable/Ant) port. As for sound quality, it’s ok. Nothing fancy, if you want to hear sounds in wide frequency range and with deep low notes and high pitches, an overall rich sound – you should pair MU7000 with a soundbar. This TV features a very minimalistic looking remote control. It has only a few buttons, and it’s super slim. The remote also features a microphone for voice commands.

The MU7000 is a smart TV and runs Samsung’s 2017 Tizen smart platform. The interface consists of one narrow bar at the bottom where you can find all your TVs features.

3. Sony XBR49X800DSony XBR49X800D

At last but not the least we have a Sony XBR49X800D. Just like other two budget TVs also X800D has a LED panel that has 4k resolution and a refresh rate of 60Hz. This TV has a wide color gamut and low input lag, making it suitable for gaming. For drawbacks, we saw that the picture quality degrades at an angle and peak brightness could be higher.

The display has a slim design which feels robust and sturdy. The stand is different from competition yet very supportive and is metallic. It’s a center stand, so you don’t need a wide table. Borders or bezels measures at just 0.39″ or 1 cm. It’s one of the top picks for PS4 gaming, especially if you are looking for a small TV as there are only two sizes available: 43-inch and 49-inch. They also feature different picture quality as 43-inch version has a VA panel, but 49-inch is a IPS that will feature wider viewing angles and better colors.

Getting a 4k TV for your PS4 Pro is a great choice as this newest and most powerful Sony’s gaming console that is capable of displaying games at 4k resolution. Although not all games offer a 4k resolution, some do like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Horizon: Zero Dawn. Playing games like this on a TV that has a screen size of 49-inches and more is very game changing. 4k plus HDR equals superb image.

The most important thing to keep in mind when looking for a gaming TV is input lag. The lower it is, the more suitable your TV is for gaming. This is essential if you competitive games like first person shooters. Lower input lag can give you an advantage over other players, just like a good PS4 gaming headset with 7.1 surround sound advantages you in the feel of the environment.

Screen size doesn’t matter that much if you want to use your TV with a PS4 console. What matters is how far you’re going to be from it while gaming. Don’t buy an overly large screen if you are planning to put it in a small room. You will end up turning your head from one corner of your screen to another, which is terrible for gaming.
