Not too long ago Rich Leadbetter of the Digital Foundry had the unique opportunity to find out what’s going to be inside the upcoming Xbox One Scorpio. Through his report on the specifications and his experience from a short demo of the console in action, we now know that Scorpio will be the most powerful console on the market. But what about the price of this beast?

An estimate from a specialist

As of now, the price os Xbox One Scorpio has only been estimated by Leadbetter to be close to that of Xbox One’s price at release – around $500. He has a very respectable experience in modern tech, knowledge of features and value of entire machines right down to the tiniest components, so if there is an estimate to trust, it would be his. Plus, the current price of the PS4 pro (Scorpios closest competitor) of around $300-400 (check PS4 Pro price on Amazon) would suggest the estimated $499 for the Scorpio to be competitive.

Our guess, and it is just a guess, is $499, the same launch price as the original Xbox One.

However, as it usually is with tech, “premium” costs way more than “regular” and Microsoft representatives have not exactly been talking down their new project, so the actual price is still very much unknown. At the moment the best chance to find out the price of the console would be E3 in June, where more information about Scorpio will most definitely be presented.
