The Corsair Flash Voyager Slider X1 is a mid-range flash drive that offers large capacities and decent mid-range performance. We think Corsair had an average user in mind when they created this drive. It’s great everyday user. It features a design that’s robust enough and features a slider mechanism to protect USB 3.0 connector. There is also a blue activity LED to indicate whether your flash drive is powered and if it’s transferring data. It supports Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X without any reformatting. Just buy one and use it without any worries, it’s that simple.

Performance and technical specifications
The Corsair Flash Voyager Slider X1 offers decent data transfer speeds, the average user should have no complaints. However, those who seek performance should consider other faster Corsair products. We did some testing with a PC running Windows 10 that has the following specifications:
- CPU – Intel i5-6500
- RAM – 8GB
- SSD – ADATA SU800 512GB
We tested this drive by transferring many different size files starting from 1GB to 10GB and did some benchmark testing. In the result, we got an average read speed of 91 MB/s and write speed of 74 MB/s. Those are not bad results but would have liked to see numbers that are twice as large. It can’t match its faster family member Corsair Flash Voyager GTX that offers tipple of Flash Voyager Slider X1 performance. Also, you can find flash drives that are in similar price range but feature higher performance like Lexar JumpDrive P20.
Corsair Flash Voyager Slider X1 specifications:

Should you buy Corsair Flash Voyager Slider X1?
This is a great drive for the average user as it offers a wide range of capacities, feature USB slider mechanism that secures your connector when you don’t use it and comes with 5-year warranty. Sounds a great buy doesn’t it? Yeah, it’s great for those who don’t want to do heavy tasks with USB flash drive and just transfer some media files. If it’s that what you need, then Flash Voyager Slider X1 is a good choice. However, if you seek performance, there are faster drives on the market. Flash Voyager Slider X1 can’t match high-end flash drives like Sandisk Extreme cz80 and PNY Pro Elite.
When it comes to design, Corsair Flash Voyager Slider X1 is unique. It features completely black design with lettering of “Corsair” their logo and model: “Flash Voyager Slider X1”. The slider has black mat finish, where the housing of flash drive features glossy looks. The Flash Voyager Slider X1 features capless design and as its name says – it has a slider mechanism.
Sliding mechanism works well and keeps USB 3.0 connector safe when you’re not using it. However, we find it not too comfortable for regular connector retracting as you will most likely use your both hands to do so unlike as with Sandisk Extreme cz80 where slider feel super good, and you can slide it forward or back with one finger.
Overall Corsair Flash Voyager Slider X1 is a good USB flash drive. It’s suitable for anyone but is mostly focused on an average consumer who wants a decent storage device that is up to date with technology, offers reasonable performance and price. And that’s what Flash Voyager Slider X1 does. All that combined with a five-year warranty and low price makes this drive a very reasonable buy. Don’t expect it to have the performance of Corsair Flash Voyager GTX because it’s not made as a drive with high data transfer speeds.
