Canvio dekstop comes in various capacities: 1TB, 2TB, 3TB, 4TB, 5TB and massive 6TB. Prices varies from about $85 for 2TB to $220 for 6TB model. All capacities are available on Amazon.com. The 2TB and 3TB versions are quite cheap, but i can not say that about 4TB; 5TB and 6TB versions. Until this day no dekstop external hard drive can beat Seagate Backup Plus 8TB for it`s price per GB ratio. Currently $249 for 8TB of storage, but customer reviews say that it`s not very reliable. There are many alternatives for Toshiba Canvio Desktop but most of them are more expensive, see them on our external hard drive list.

Would i recommend Toshiba Canvio Desk?

I recommend Toshiba Canvio Desk 5tb external hard drive for people who need a massive storage for daily use. This hard drive can store a lot of projects, videos, photos and songs. Now when prices have dropped and Toshiba launched 6TB model the Canvio Desk is even better buy for the money.
It will definitely satisfy you if you need is just extra storage. If you are looking for speed and high performance then you should invest much more in more powerfull products. The stingy pays twice.

Beside backing up your data on a hard drive, you should also back it up on the cloud, that way you can keep things going as usual in case of a down time.
